As a worship leader myself anytime I get to experience another group I really try to soak it all in. Those moments that I take to learn from another team are crucial when your still learning and training in your craft. There we so many things about their team that inspired me, things that might seem minute are actually huge in my world. Here's a list of my favorite observations.
- The vocalist created one sound and blended so well that the only differentiation in vocals was the person leading the song. As a bonus the person leading the song kept it very simple and was in the most basic form giving us the words for the next part of the song.
- A little something I like to call Excite-2-Buy. Which means that they were so exciting that even if their style of music did not appeal to you it would be extremely hard to resist buying in and joining the experience.
- The musicians were fully engaged in worship singing along, jumping and worshiping through their instruments. Every single musician was super connected and aware of the flow of worship.
- Last but certainly one of the most important things is that after they were done with worship they sat in the session and received with everyone else. I have been so many places and have seen as well as experienced on a team were musicians and singers leave the room after worship and do whatever they please till the end of service when they need to be back on stage.
I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to experience the ministry of Planetshakers and all the wonderful hospitality from Destiny Church. If you are a Pastor or staff member I would make plans to be at the next Passionate Pastors meeting in October. It was truly a day well spent!
